I am in a very different place in the parenting experience, obviously. But with two boys so close in age, it was always fascinating to see the ways in which they were so incredibly different.

There are various milestones that are always bittersweet - as though you wish to do it again, even though you're fully aware of the physical toll, the fatigue, the heart you put into each child, each day.

Beautiful pictures.

Oh my goodness, what sweet pictures! (My daughter sleeps like that too, a position I find both odd and adorable...oddorable?)

And I hear you on the symmetry front. It's one of great gifts, I think, of having more than one child: getting to learn more about each of them through the ways they're similar and different from each other. My husband and I love to have conversations about nature vs. nurture and which is more responsible for our kids' shared habits.

That's sort of the beauty of babies born at similar times of year...wow. And both boys, too...I wonder how it would have been different if you'd had a girl.
